This is usually my technology blog, but today I’m changing it up as soon my wife, Krista, will deliver our first son.

Baby Hagen is here! Baby checked in at 8 lbs 11 oz and 21 inches. Baby is very healthy and doing very well. Mom is doing great and recovering. Check back in a bit for pictures.

Baby is not progressing naturally and since her water broke over 24 hours ago they are doing an caesarean as we speak. We will be parents in less than an hour!

Krista has finally reached a stage of adequate and regular contractions. She is getting pain medication now and will hopefully be able to relax and get some much needed sleep. Hopefully baby will be here in 3-5 hours.

Still waiting. Almost to the point of active labor but not quite. Krista is hanging in there very well. She is in pain but managing. Hopefully in the next few hours she will move to the active labor stage and then deliver a few hours after that. More to come.

Contractions (and unfortunately the pain) is getting more regular at around every 3 mins. Hopefully baby will start coming over the next few hours.

Krista got hooked up to an IV to begin speeding up the process and get things moving along.
May 5 - 9:00 PM EST
The midwife had us come into the hospital to check things out and decided it would be best to stay the nite for monitoring.
May 5 - 2:30 PM EST
Krista’s water broke so we went to the clinic but she was not having contractions so they sent us home for a few hours.
The due date was on my calendar . . . better early than late:) We are so excited.
I will pray that labor is not too painful.
I am praying for you two! I hope everything goes very smoothly! Enjoy this special moment! I can’t wait to see all of the pictures!!!

Thanks for updating this. I’ve been sitting at work hitting refresh every so often. Hope you two are holding up well. We will be praying that things continue to go well and quickly :). Sometime here in a few weeks, we’ll have to skype so we can see Andy!
You’re getting close now! Hang in there, soon it will be all over… and You’ll be just beginning one of the most amazing journeys in life! How exciting!
Hang in there Nick and Krista…the birth of your first baby is one of the most incredible experiences ever (second to salvation, in my opinion)! Dave and I often talk about Katie’s birth (and David’s). Its a very bonding experience for husband and wife. God bless! Still praying for ya!

Hey, did you realize that Andrew was born on his Great Great Grandma Lawn’s birthday (in case you are not sure who that is that is Grandma Bray’s mother). So he has the same birthdate as Margie Lawn did. Just an FYI.
He is absolutely beautiful. What a blessing!
